2025 Legislative Day Event: Taking Advocacy to the Heart of Our Communities
Building on this success, AAHAM is bringing the event back to the states and districts in 2025. By connecting with our representatives during their district work periods, we gain a unique opportunity to engage with them on a personal level, showcasing the challenges and triumphs of our industry directly from their constituents.
This hometown approach strengthens our voice, fosters meaningful dialogue, and reinforces the importance of revenue cycle issues impacting our healthcare system today.

2025 Legislative Priorities
The American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) is proud to unveil its 2025 legislative agenda, continuing our commitment to advocating for policies that support revenue cycle professionals and the patients they serve. This year’s agenda builds upon our past successes and focuses on critical areas affecting the financial health and accessibility of care for patients.
- Advancing Prior Authorization Reforms: Prior authorization rules continue to present challenges for providers and patients alike. AAHAM will intensify efforts to streamline these processes, reducing administrative burdens and ensuring patients receive timely, necessary care without undue delays.
- Reforming Medical Debt Collection Practices: Current medical debt collection rules can hinder effective communication between patients and our patient financial advocates. AAHAM will work to ensure these regulations are reformed to prioritize transparency, patient engagement, and financial fairness.
- Updating Billing Code Families: AAHAM is advocating for changes to a family of billing codes critical to administrative accuracy and patient billing clarity. These updates are essential for reducing errors and improving efficiency across the revenue cycle.
- Engaging in the Mental Health Debate: Mental health remains a national priority, and AAHAM is determined to play an active role in shaping policies that integrate mental health services into broader healthcare frameworks. Administrative management is a vital component in ensuring mental health care is accessible and financially sustainable.
